Purpose
Goals: 1) Hire a LWCD staff person to work with property owners and partners in the 14-mile watershed 2) Work with 14-Mile watershed LWCD's to build partnerships with property owners and agriculture 3) Work to achieve a 35% reduction of phosphorus to meet 9-Key Element plan and Wisconsin River TMDL goals 4) Assist other county and state staff to build partnerships with the WPVGA, 14-Mile Creek Watershed Alliance, Tri-Lakes Management District and agricultural interests 5) Conduct 10 different site visits per year to implement BMP's 6) Create educational opportunities with landowners for BMP's, Soil Health and a producer led watershed group 7) Inventory 65 miles of ditches and streams for nutrient control options 8) Work with agencies to direct cost sharing funds to partners. Project deliverables: 1) Minimum of three year position for staff person 2) Assigned area is beyond county boundaries for travel and tasks 3) Annual reports on the goals in the application and scope 4) Track acreage and duration of BMP installations and reduction of nutrient loading 5) Track 9-Key Element Plan completed goals 6) Track educational meetings and speakers 7) Complete report with data, maps, BMP's and modelled/empirical reductions of nutrients 8) Attend 14-Mile Creek Watershed Alliance, Tri-Lakes Management District and other partner meetings. Specific conditions: 1) Complete summary of the project and recommend any improvements on forms provided 2) Participate in semi-annual or annual progress report meetings with DNR and County Conservationist, that include: a list of practices to reduce nonpoint source pollution installed since during the period for which you are seeking reimbursement. For each practice, include date installed, cost and estimated load reductions for N, P, and Sediment lb/yr; a 1-2 paragraph narrative description of project status, including project milestones, accomplishments, and roadblocks encountered.Related Reports
