14 MILE WATERSHED ALLIANCE: 14 Mile Watershed Alliance Community Outreach and Education Plan

Purpose

The 14 Mile Watershed Alliance will provide information and education materials to residents within the watershed boundary as well as provide informational meetings to help promote the 9-Key Element plan and other BMP\2019s throughout the watershed. Specific project activities include: 1) Signage on highways mentioning the beginning of the 14-Mile Creek Watershed, 2) Homeowner packets that includes information on nutrient controls and other BMP\2019s including Healthy Lakes grants. 3) 14MCWA will work with DNR and Adams County LWCD to sponsor face to face meetings to further advocate for wise land use and create partnerships within the watershed. Project final deliverables include: Highway metal signage, newsletters, brochures and outreach events. Special Conditions: Signs along highways must meet DOT approval.
