Purpose
The Maiden Lake Club Association is sponsoring a project to create a comprehensive Aquatic Plant Management (APM) plan for Maiden Lake.
Deliverables: All data collected during study including point intercept (PI) survey data, plant community maps, EWM population mapping summary and results, results of stakeholder survey, presentations at planning meetings, final APM report.
Activities: 1) whole lake PI survey to document the current aquatic plant community; 2) map plant community distribution and abundance for floating-leaf and emergent plants; 3) late-season EWM mapping to document occurrences as points or polygons to indicate individual plants or larger colonies; 4) conduct anonymous stakeholder survey to determine landowner management goals; 5) host meetings including project kick off meeting with landowners, two planning committee meetings, and final wrap-up meeting to share the final management plan with landowners; 6) comprehensive APM plan based upon data collected and stakeholder goals for management activities, and specific implementation plans for future management.
Special Conditions: PI surveys shall be conducted according to: Baseline Monitoring of Aquatic Plants in Wisconsin: Sampling Design, Field and Laboratory Procedures, Data Entry and Analysis Lakes, Publication number PUB-SS-1068 2010. If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive an electronic .pdf copy of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein.
