BRANDY LAKE ASSOCIATION: Brandy Lake Aquatic Plant Management Plan

Purpose

The Brandy Lake Association is sponsoring an AEPP grant to study Brandy Lake, Vilas County, with a study completion date of December 2024. The project will focus on developing an Aquatic Plant Management Plan. Project final deliverables include: 1) Data from aquatic plant, EWM and native plant bed mapping surveys, native weevil population estimate, pre-post sub PI surveys, EWM genetic analysis; 2) Healthy lakes practices site plans; 3) an aquatic plant management plan. Specific project activities include: 1) Conduct aquatic plant surveys (Point-intercept (PI), EWM bed mapping, emergent and floating plants bed mapping, pre-post sub PI surveys); 2) Healthy Lakes site visits and planning; 3) EWM genetic analysis; 4) Native weevil population estimate; 5) Hold 2 public meetings; 6) Develop an aquatic plant management plan. Special Conditions: Draft Aquatic Plant Management needs WDNR review and approval. WDNR Lake Biologist will be provided with an electronic copy of reports/management plans; all data; all maps and GIS data from project. WDNR Lake Biologist will be invited to management plan development meetings. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.
