DUCKS UNLIMITED: COMP - Rush Lake Management Plan - Phase 2

Purpose

Ducks Unlimited is sponsoring a project on Rush Lake which will focus on Completing a Lake Management Plan. Project final deliverables include: 1) Spatial data for non-native Phragmites surveys (aerial imagery and remote sensing), stakeholder meetings, and watershed assessment; 2) Education meetings, workshops, and materials; and 3) an updated lake management plan. Specific project activities include: 1) Conduct remote sensing assessment to determine size and locations of non-native Phragmites; 2) Conduct watershed assessment (by volunteers and contractor) and analysis of watershed land-use and phosphorus loading using the WiLMs and PRESTO models; 3) Conduct stakeholder meetings to get public input on management actions; 4) Develop an updated comprehensive lake management plan (LMP). Special Conditions: DNR Lake Biologist will be provided with a copy of reports and/or management plans; data from stakeholder meetings, watershed assessment, and AIS surveys; all maps and GIS data; and DNR Lake Biologist will be invited to management planning meetings. If consultant is to provide final report, the Grantee shall provide the DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.
