HORSESHOE LAKE PROPERTY ASSOC: 2023 Horseshoe Lake, Washburn County EWM Diver Removal/DASH Project

Purpose

Horseshoe Lake Property Owners Association is sponsoring a project to map E-HWM beds, determine best management methods in specific areas through hand pulling, diver removal, & DASH. Water quality monitoring will be expanded to 2nd basin. Chemical management may be implemented if prior year mapping indicates E-HWM beds > 0.25 acres Project final deliverables include: 1. Final Report summarizing accomplishments/progress of the grant including all E-HWM maps, meandering survey results, removal/treatment determination and planning results, report on AIS removal and/or treatment, CBCW data, CLMN data, outreach activities including agendas and minutes for planning meetings, and mailings. 2. Financial Payment Request with documentation of grant administration time and services, contributions, financial match, proof of expenditure payments, and organizations providing financial support. 3. CBCW and CLMN results entered in SWIMS 4. Additional related materials generated/paid by this grant. Specific project activities include: Project includes 2023 mapping and review E-HWM beds, meandering survey of lake plants, determine appropriate plant control method diver removal and/or DASH, and/or herbicide treatment, obtain necessary permits, expanded water quality monitoring (CLMN), CBCW Program, public educ & awareness. Special Conditions: CLMN efforts should not be duplicated. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, reports, GIS-based maps, and digital images must be submitted to DNR in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. If consultant provides final report, it is recommended Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
