Purpose
This project will update the 2019 comprehensive plan for Forest Lake. It will analyze historical and current ecological data to identify threats, determine goals and values of stakeholders, and present feasible management actions. This is especially important as the FLPF continues to use integrated pest management (IPM) to manage the lake's Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM) population.
Project final deliverables include:
1) Stakeholder survey
2) Water chemistry data;
3) Watershed maps and modeling data;
4) PI, Early Season AIS, and Late Season EWM data;
7) lake management plan update.
Specific project activities include:
1) Conduct water quality monitoring utilizing WIDNR protocols
2) Updating the general description of the watershed with the most current landcover information available.
3) An early-season AIS (ESAIS) survey, a point-intercept (PI) survey, and a Late-Season EWM Mapping survey.
4) WIDNR approved Stakeholder survey
5) Planning meeting with FLA Board of Directors
6) Data analysis and update to lake management plan.
Special Conditions: 1) WDNR Lake Biologist will be provided with an electronic copy of reports; data from water quality, aquatic plant, and AIS monitoring and surveys; all maps and GIS data from project.
This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.
