Purpose
The Balsam Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District is sponsoring a project to acquire, train, and engage lake users on a boat decontamination station (CD3) unit at the Highway 46 boat launch on Balsam Lake. The following goals of the project are as follows: 1) prevent spread of AIS to and from Balsam Lake and 2) engage lake users.
Project final deliverables include: 1) Monthly status reports; 2) Continuous tracking of boater use and performance; 3) Documentation of use and location of the CD3 unit.
Specific project activities include: 1) Documentation of use of the CD3 boat decontamination station
Special Conditions: 1) Documentation of CD3 station use; 2) Grantee will place unit from April through October at Balsam Lake\2019s Highway 46 boat launch; 3) 200 hours of watercraft inspection time is required during the tenure of this project (being funded with grant number CBCW129823); 4) Final report needs DNR review and approval; 5) DNR will be provided electronic copies of boater survey and final report.
