Purpose
Crescent Lake Association is sponsoring an AIS EPP project which will focus on AIS education, prevention and monitoring. Project partners include the Lake Julia Lake Association and Squash Lake Association.
Project activities include: 1) Recruit volunteers and implement a CB/CW program at Crescent Lake, Lake Julia and Squash Lake boat landings; 2) Hire project coordinator; 3) Conduct AIS citizen lake monitoring following Dept/UW Ext guidelines; 4) Entry of inspection Forms 3200-120 and monitoring Forms 3200-124 onto Dept website; 5) Develop Crescent Lake Association website; 6) Build storage sheds for Lake Julia and Squash Lake; 7) Install innovative signage; 8) AIS educational activities (bar coasters, calendars, newsletters, July 4th float, workshop, trainings, press releases, volunteer recognition dinner, and other AIS hand-out literature).
Project deliverables include: 1) Completed entry of inspection Forms 3200-120 and monitoring Forms 3200-124 onto Dept website; 2) Assembled AIS information (bar coasters, calendars, etc.); 3) Storage sheds and innovative signs; 4) Hired coordinator; 5) Crescent Lake Website; 6) Final report summarizing CB/CW activities, AIS monitoring, and AIS educational activities.
Specific Conditions for this project: Final report needs Dept review and approval.
WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report and samples of assembled AIS information.
