The Town of Washington is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grants to study Anvil Lake, in Vilas County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Anvil Lake, which will allow Anvil Lake to become eligible for lake protection grant money in the lake management plan implementation category. Phase 1 project activities include: 1) Synthesis of existing Anvil Lake data; 2) Information and Education activities \2013 public information meeting, press releases, newsletter articles, website updates, mailings, community survey, and presentations; 3) Water quality sampling (CLMN) and analysis; 4) Point-intercept (PI) aquatic plant survey; 5) Recreational use survey; 6) Fisheries assessment; 7) Shoreline assessment; 8) Develop LMP.
