Lake Nokomis Concerned Citizens, Inc. is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grants to study Lake Nokomis, in Lincoln County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Lake Nokomis. Completion of a LMP will allow for potential Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) cost sharing grants and permits for Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) control. Phases 1 and 2 were funded in this grant cycle (Feb 2010) and Phase 3 will be submitted for funding in August 2010. Phase 2 project activities include: 1) Point-intercept (PI) aquatic plant survey, community mapping and analysis; 2) Curly-leaf pondweed survey.
