BUFFALO LAKE PROTECTION & REHAB DISTRICT: ENUM - Buffalo Lake Summer Water Level Permitting Study

Purpose
Buffalo Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District is sponsoring a project to conduct the studies required for the deparmtent to review a permit request to alter the summer water level order on Buffalo Lake. Project activities are described in application form 8700-284 dated October 10, 2023 and include: 1) Property Impacts Assessment; 2) Collect Fox River water temperature data upstream and downstream of Buffalo Lake from April 15th to October 15th of the same calendar year; 3) Whole lake PI survey; 4) Plant community survey mapping of floating leaf and emergent plants; 5) Host public informational meeting conditional on department approval of Water Level Order change request. Project deliverables are described in application form 8700-284 dated October 10, 2023 and include: 1) Map depicting location and depth of temperature monitoring points; 2) Electronic copies of all data collected; 3) reports summarzing each of the study's findings. Special Conditions: 1) all consultants and subcontractors performing grant activities shall meet with department resource staff to discuss project prior to starting grant supported work, 2) All monitoring and survey work shall follow DNR protocols. This scope summarizes the activities and deliverables described in the application and does not negate the tasks described therein.
