Purpose
The FDL Long Lake Preservation Association, Inc. is sponsoring a project to update the Aquatic Plant Management (APM) Plan for Long and Tittle Lake.
Activities: 1) Collect aquatic plant data on Long and Tittle Lakes which includes a lake-wide point-intercept survey, an early season (CLP) and a late-season (EWM) mapping survey; 2) Increase stakeholder buy-in, understanding, and input through participation in planning project. This includes a stakeholder survey and three planning meetings; 3) Development of a realistic and implementable Aquatic Plant Management Plan with specific focus on an acceptable mechanical harvesting plan.
Deliverables: 1) all data collected 2) agendas and minutes from planning meetings 3) an APM plan that includes methodologies, results, and management alternatives discussion with an implementation plan.
Conditions:
1) All data shall be entered into the SWIMS database under the grant project number.
2) Draft stakeholder survey must be reviewed and approved by the Department before being initiated.
3) Aquatic plant monitoring shall follow DNR approved protocols.
4) WDNR\2019s Aquatic Plant Management in Wisconsin guidance shall be followed for aquatic plant monitoring and aquatic plant management plan development.
5) Public participation must include local interest groups beyond riparian property owners.
This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify.
If a consultant provides a final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR Biologist with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making a final payment to the consultant. Include electronic copy of the final report along with or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
