Purpose
North Lakeland Discovery Center is sponsoring a multi-year project implements actions contained in the comprehensive management plan the Town completed in 2020; specifically continue control and monitoring efforts for AIS and conduct curly-leaf pondweed (CLP) population control using hand-harvesting treatment.
Activities: Locate populations of CLP and perform hand-harvesting and DASH for CLP. This field work will be performed during peak CLP growth and during late season CLP growth, if applicable, in years 2024, 2025, and 2026. NLDC will focus on removing smaller, sparse populations and individual plants. APM, Inc will utilize scuba equipment to harvest in deeper water (6-8 feet) and will use DASH if populations are dense enough to warrant the equipment.
Deliverables: Deliverables will include a summarized annual report of work performed, total CLP removed and future recommendations.
