MUSSER LAKE ASSOCIATION: Musser Lake Eurasian Watermilfoil Eradication Plan

Purpose
The Musser Lake Association is sponsoring a project to develop planning documentation related to pursuit of lake drawdown for the management of Eurasian Watermilfoil. Activities: 1) Develop lake management plan 2) Conduct meeting for community members and lake association 3) Conduct stakeholder survey. Deliverables: 1) Lake management plan 2) Number of individuals attending meetings 3) Stakeholder survey results and potential recommendations for future planning. Conditions: 1) Enter data collected into SWIMS database under grant project number. 2) Provide DNR Biologists with draft version of the management plan for review and invite to management plan development meetings. 3) Reference Aquatic Plant Management In Wisconsin guidance for aquatic plant monitoring and aquatic plant management plan development (https://www3.uwsp.edu/cnr-ap/UWEXLakes/Documents/ecology/Aquatic%20Plants/APMguideFull2010.pdf). 4) The NOR Native Plant Protection Strategy shall be integrated into the plan. 5) Point intercept surveys shall follow Recommended Baseline Monitoring of Aquatic Plants in Wisconsin: Sampling Design, Field and Laboratory Procedures, Data Entry and Analysis, and Applications, publication number PUB-SS-1068. Submit electronic point intercept data to this email address: DNRBaselineAquaticPlants@wisconsin.gov 6) All monitoring shall follow DNR protocols. 7) Draft user survey questions to be reviewed and approved by DNR Social Scientist before distribution or use.
