MUSSER LAKE ASSOCIATION: Musser Lake Eurasian Watermilfoil Eradication Survey

Purpose

The Musser Lake Association is sponsoring a project to conduct monitoring related to the development of a lake management plan for the pursuit of lake drawdown for Eurasian Watermilfoil management. Activities: 1) Conduct full lake point intercept survey 2) Conduct full lake point intercept survey after management actions occur 3) Conduct CLMN AIS monitoring on Musser Lake. Deliverables: 1) Result from pre and post management full lake point intercept surveys 2) Results from CLMN AIS monitoring. Conditions: 1) Enter data collected into SWIMS database under grant project number. 2) Provide DNR Biologists with draft version of the management plan for review and invite to management plan development meetings. 3) Reference Aquatic Plant Management In Wisconsin guidance for aquatic plant monitoring and aquatic plant management plan development (https://www3.uwsp.edu/cnr-ap/UWEXLakes/Documents/ecology/Aquatic%20Plants/APMguideFull2010.pdf). 4) The NOR Native Plant Protection Strategy shall be integrated into the plan. 5) Point intercept surveys shall follow Recommended Baseline Monitoring of Aquatic Plants in Wisconsin: Sampling Design, Field and Laboratory Procedures, Data Entry and Analysis, and Applications, publication number PUB-SS-1068.
