WATERWAYS ASSOC. MENOMINEE & SHAWANO CTY: LMI - Shawno Lake and Tributary Shoreline Restoration

Purpose

The Waterway Association of Menominee and Shawano Counties (WAMSCO) is sponsoring a project to replace seawalls on Shawano Lake with rip rap and native plantings and restore streambanks on tributaries to Shawano Lake. Activities: 1) Remove concrete seawalls and install Army Corps of Engineers designed 3-layer rip rap with native plantings at shoreline properties ; 2) Pre and post habitat assessments at streambank restoration sites. Deliverables: 1) Nine concrete seawall structures will be replaced with rip rap and native plantings; 2) Two streambank restorations with native plantings; 3) Pre and post shoreline monitoring. Conditions: 1) Progress report shall be included with each reimbursement request. 2) Design shall follow NRCS design standards . 3) Prior to ground disturbance, provide list of locations/properties where seawall structure replacements and streambank restorations are to occur. 4) Contact DNR Biologist and DNR EGS to add or subtract practices, locations or properties to the scope of this grant agreement. 5) Provide final project designs for each location or property to DNR for review before construction begins. 6) Provide land use agreement to DNR EGS for review prior to execution with landowner. 7) Enter into land use agreements for lands not owned by Grantee and provide copy of agreement recorded at the County Register of Deeds office. 8) Provide 20-year operation and maintenance plan recorded on the property deed. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify. Also see B.
