
Purpose
The Waterford Waterway Management District is sponsoring a project to conduct a point intercept plant survey on Tichigan Lake and update their Aquatic Plant Management Plan for the Fox River, Conservancy Bay, Tichigan Lake and Buena Lake. Point intercept data will be collected on Buena Lake, Conservancy Bay and the Fox River through a different grant.
Activities: 1) Conduct a point intercept plant survey; 2) Update the APM plan.
Deliverables: 1) Excel spreadsheet containing the field P/I data; 2) Analysis of the data including comparison tables; plant distribution maps with FOO and density; 3) Harvesting plan with maps illustrating harvesting paths, dimensions, disposal site, offload site, and haul route; 4) APM plan with alternatives for DASH, conventional harvesting and chemical treatment.
Conditions: 1) Enter data collected into SWIMS database under the grant project number; 2) Point intercept surveys shall follow Recommended Baseline Monitoring of Aquatic Plants in Wisconsin: Sampling Design, Field and Laboratory Procedures, Data Entry and Analysis, and Applications, publication number PUB-SS-1068. If a consultant provides a final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR Biologist with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making a final payment to the consultant. with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making a final payment to the consultant.
