POLK COUNTY: Shoreline Protection in the Horse Lake-Horse Creek Watershed

Purpose

Polk County is sponsoring a project to prioritize parcels for protection in the Horse Lake \2013 Horse Creek watershed. Activities: 1) conduct shoreline inventories 2) use shoreline inventories, aerial imagery, and slope maps to prioritize parcels for protection and restoration, 3) offer a workshop on permanent land protection (priority protection parcels), and 4) complete sites visits and designs and offer cost sharing to implement BMP's (priority restoration parcels). Deliverables: 1) shoreline inventory data 2) parcel maps 3) copies of mailings and presentations 4) shovel ready designs Conditions: 1) Shoreland and shallows habitat monitoring shall follow Lake Shoreland & Shallows Habitat Monitoring Field Protocol, publication number EGAD # 3400-2020-19. 2) Design plans shall follow NRCS design standards. This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify. Also see B.
