WASHINGTON COUNTY: RES - Friess Lake Shoreline Restoration- Glacier Hills County Park (Hubertus, Washington County, WI)

Purpose

Washington County is sponsoring a project to install a bioretention basin and permeable paver system in Glacier Hills County Park. Activities: 1) Construction of a permeable paver parking area; 2) construction of a bioretention basin and 3) revegetation of the shoreline and the approaching slope with native seed mixes. Deliverables: 1) A photo essay showing before, during and after construction pictures and 2) a written log describing major construction steps. Conditions: 1) Design shall follow NRCS design standards. 2) Buffer restoration shall follow Wisconsin Biology Technical Note 1: Shoreland Habitat. 3) Prairie restoration shall follow NRCS technical guide wildlife planting standard 420 and tree/shrub establishment standard 612. 4) Suitable habitat for the Blanding's Turtle may be present within the project site. Avoidance measures may be voluntarily implemented to avoid impacts. See Attachment A. 5) With each reimbursement request grantee must provide: a list of practices to reduce nonpoint source pollution installed since during the period for which you are seeking reimbursement and a 1-2 paragraph description of project status, including project milestones, accomplishments, and roadblocks encountered. 6) Provide DNR Biologist with draft version of the final report for review. This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify.
