WATERWAYS ASSOC. MENOMINEE & SHAWANO CTY: RES - Shawano Lake and Tributary Shoreline Restoration Phase Two

Purpose

The Waterways Association of Menominee and Shawano Counties is sponsoring a project for Phase II of the Shawano Lake and Tributary Shoreline Restoration project. Activities: 1) Replace seawalls on Shawano Lake and one of its tributaries with riprap and native plantings, using the ACOE designed project specs. 2) Implement native plantings behind the riprap installation with a minimum of 250 square feet of planting area. Deliverables: 5 shorelines will be restored totaling 285 feet with the above riprap design. Conditions: 1) WAMSCO shall enter into land use agreements for lands restored utilizing grant funding or used as match to the project to ensure land restored remain in conservation per s. NR 193. The restoration project requires the land be maintained for conservation for a 20 year period through a land use agreement recorded at the County\2019s Registrar of Deeds Office. 2) Refer to the Endangered Resources Review dated February 13, 2025 for required and recommended actions related to the potential presence of state endangered and threatened resources. 3) Also see B. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify.
