
Purpose
: The Round Lake Management District is sponsoring a project to implement Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM), Curly-leaf pondweed (CLP), and Purple loosestrife (PL) management activities from their aquatic plant management plan, conduct an AIS workshop, conduct Clean Boats, Clean Waters (CBCW) inspections, and conduct water quality monitoring.
Activities:
1) Conduct planning and stakeholder meetings;
2) Conduct AIS Workshop.
3) EWM management (mechanical removal);
4) CLP management (mechanical removal);
5) PL management (bio-control);
6) Pre/post treatment EWM, CLP, and PL bed mapping;
7) Conduct water quality sampling (Secchi depth, temperature/dissolved oxygen profile, total phosphorus, chlorophyll-a);
8) Conduct CBCW inspections.
Deliverables:
1) EWM, CLP, and PL management and permit reporting (treatment records);
2) Data from all surveys, water quality sampling, and CBCW inspections.
3) Annual and final EWM, CLP, and PL management and monitoring reports.
Conditions:
1) All monitoring shall follow WDNR protocols.
2) WDNR Biologist will be provided with an electronic copy of reports, data (Excel) from monitoring and surveys, and all maps and GIS datafiles from project;
3) Conduct annual meeting with WDNR Biologist to discuss EWM and CLP management for the next year before aquatic plant management permit applications are submitted;
4) Enter water quality and CBCW data collected into SWIMS database under the grant project number;
5) WDNR Biologist invited to management planning meetings;
