LAKESHORE NATURAL RESOURCES PARTNERSHIP INC.: LMI - Elkhart Lake Water Quality & Habitat Improvement Project - Gully Bay Tributary - Phase 3

Purpose

The Lakeshore Natural Resources Partnership is sponsoring a project to manage stormwater on a 1 acre gully parcel that discharges to Elkhart Lake. Activities: 1) Cut 0.89 acres of buckthorn and chemically treat stumps; 2) chemically treat 0.5 acres of reed canary grass; 3) install a wetland scrape; 4) revegetation with seed mixes and plant plugs; 5) maintain vegetation with mowing and spot chemical treatment; and 6) conduct public outreach and education. Deliverables: 1) A photo essay showing before, during and after construction pictures; 2) a written log describing major construction steps; and 3) results of 2 years of inlet monitoring (TP, TSS, Dissolved P). Conditions: 1) Construction of the wetland scrape shall follow NRCS design standard 659. 2) Enter into land use agreements containing a 20-year operation and maintenance plan for activities conducted on properties not owned by the Grantee and provide copy of these agreements recorded at the County Register of Deeds office prior to requesting final reimbursement. 3) With each reimbursement request grantee must provide: a list of practices to reduce nonpoint source pollution installed since during the period for which you are seeking reimbursement and a 1-2 paragraph description of project status, including project milestones, accomplishments, and roadblocks encountered. 4) Provide DNR Biologist with draft version of the final report for review. This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify.
