Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) Grants

Purpose

Fifty-one (51) projects by Wisconsin agencies and organizations have been invited by U.S. EPA to complete an application to obtain a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) grant this year. These GLRI grants will provide over $29 million in federal funds in Wisconsin for the restoration and protection of Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. Thanks to the hard work of hundreds of people across the state, a vast array of important Great Lakes projects will soon be under way. These grants are a tremendous opportunity for Wisconsin and for the Great Lakes. The selected projects address the issues identified in Wisconsin´s Great Lakes Strategy, our state´s roadmap for the restoration and protection of Lake Michigan and Lake Superior.
