DEER LAKE DISTRICT: Deer Lake Eurasian Water Milfoil Early Detection & Response Project 2010-2011

Purpose
Deer Lake District is sponsoring an AIRR grant which will focus on monitoring and controlling Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM) in Deer Lake. Project activities include: 1) Complete mapping of EWM; 2) Chemically treat and hand remove EWM; 3) Complete a EWM summer and spring treatment assessment survey; 4) Prepare Treatment Report. Project deliverables include: 1) Chemical treatment and hand removal of EWM; 2) EWM mapping and assessment surveys; 3) Final report describing the findings of the treatment assessment surveys and hand removal, GPS locations, updated EWM maps, and guidance for continued control actions. Specific conditions for this project: Final report needs Department review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report, Aquatic plant survey data, GPS data and maps.
