The Village of LacLaBelle will hire a contractor to develop a plan to install best management practices in the LacLaBelle Lake watershed. This plan will be used to develop a Lake Protection grant application in May 2011 to install the chosen best management practices. The project deliverable will be a plan/report that contains the following elements: 1) WILMS modeling to study the impact of installing various best management practices; 2) Alternative, literature supported modeling to determine contaminant reduction as an impact of installing best management practices; 3) results of 6 sets of grab samples from two locations to be used in the WILMS model; 4) creation of a map to show runoff patterns and environmentally sensitive areas in the watershed; 5) a list and ranking of best management practices that could potentially be installed in the watershed; and 6) results of the public informational meeting and the finalized priority list. All project deliverables are further described in the grant application.
