Friends of Lower Nine Lake is sponsoring phased lake planning project to study Lower Nine Mile Lake, in Vilas County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Lower Nine Mile Lake. Phases 1 and 2 are being funded in August 2010 grant cycle and Phase 3 will be submitted for funding consideration in February 2011. Phase 1 project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 stakeholder survey, planning meetings (up to 2), news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) Shoreline assessment; 3) Water quality sampling analysis; 4) Watershed assessment and P load modeling; 5) Fisheries assessment. Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey, news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) PI, shoreland and water chemistry data; 3) Watershed maps and modeling data.
