LAKE NOKOMIS CONCERNED CITIZEN'S INC.: Lake Nokomis Management Planning Project, Phase 3

Purpose

Lake Nokomis Concerned Citizens, Inc. is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grants to study Lake Nokomis, in Lincoln County. (Phases 1 and 2 were funded in the Feb 2010 grant cycle.) The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Lake Nokomis. Completion of a LMP will allow for potential Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) cost sharing grants and permits for Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) control. Phase 3 project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation (stakeholder survey, planning meetings (2), wrap-up meeting, news release, and newsletter article); 2) Data analysis; 3) Develop LMP. Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey, news release(s), and newsletter article(s); 2) LMP. Specific conditions for this project: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey needs to be submitted to Lakes Management Coordinator for review and approval before sending to public; 2) LMP needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of stakeholder survey, all news releases and newsletter articles, and LMP.
