Big Portage Lake Riparian Owners Association is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grants to study Big Portage Lake, in Vilas County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan for Big Portage Lake. Phases 1 and 2 were funded in the August 2009 grant cycle and Phase 3 was funded in August 2010. Phase 3 project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation - stakeholder survey; 2) CB/CW activities; 3) Data analysis; 4) Develop Lake Management Plan. Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey; 2) Entry of watercraft inspection forms onto SWIMS; 3) Lake Management Plan.
