Grant Awarded
The Town of Newbold is sponsoring a phased large scale lake planning grant project to study Two Sisters Lake, in Oneida County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Two Sisters Lake. Grant applications for Phases 3 and 4 of the LMP will be submitted for funding consideration in August 2011.
Phase 1 project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) Water quality sampling and analysis; 3) Curly-leaf pondweed survey; 4) Aquatic plant community and substrate mapping; 5) AIS education and prevention \2013 establish rapid response team and AIS monitoring; 6) Data entry of AIS monitoring into SWIMS.
Project deliverables include: 1) News release(s), and newsletter article; 2) Water chemistry data; 3) Aquatic plant community and substrate maps; 4) Entered AIS monitoring data into SWIMS.
