Big Arbor Vitae Lake Association is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grant projects to study Big Arbor Vitae Lake, in Vilas County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Big Arbor Vitae Lake. An application for Phase 3 of the LMP will be submitted for funding consideration in August 2011. Phase 2 project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 stakeholder survey, wrap-up meeting, news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) Shoreline assessment; 3) Professional Dreissena monitoring; 4) Point-intercept (PI) aquatic plant survey, community mapping and analysis; 5) Curly-leaf pondweed survey. Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey, news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) PI and shoreland data; 3) Aquatic plant community and substrate maps; 4) Aquatic plant vouchers.
