Citizen Lake Monitoring- AIS/Water Quality Training - Riverview - 6/4/2011

Purpose

This free workshop runs from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm in Oconto County. The workshop will be held in the Riverview Town Hall, 15471 Highway 32, PO Box 220, Mountain, WI 54149. To register, or for more information, contact Brenda Nordin, Lake MI Basin AIS Specialist, at 920-662-5435 or brenda.nordin@wisconsin.gov The Citizen Lake Monitoring Network (CLMN) Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) monitoring workshop speakers provide details on aquatic invasive species identification and life cycles; instructions on how to organize an effective monitoring team; where and when to look for the invasives; as well as what to do if you suspect that you have found an invasive plant or animal. Most workshops will offer hands-on training for invasive species identification. Workshop hosts will offer participants a monitoring kit at no charge (one free kit per lake). Additional kits and supplies helpful in assisting you in collection and identification of the plants and animals may be offered “for sale” at the workshops.
