Citizen Lake Monitoring Training - Plum Lake - 07/05/2009

Purpose

This workshop will take place from 1:00pm – 5:00pm (including on laketime). The workshop will start and end at the Plum Lake Golf Club. Phone (715) 542- 3108.Email: wiseguys@nnex.net This Shoreline Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS)monitoring workshop is a modification of the Citizen Lake MonitoringNetwork AIS monitoring workshop. Speakers will provide details onaquatic invasive species identification and life cycles; instructionson how to organize an effective monitoring team; where and when to lookfor the invasives; as well as what to do if you suspect that you havefound an invasive plant or animal. Then the schedule builds in time togo back to your lake shore, monitor and return to the Club with plantsand critters you collect. These plants and critters will be identifiedat the end of the workshop. Workshop hosts may offer participants amonitoring kit at no charge (one free kit per lake). Additional kitsand supplies helpful in assisting you in collection and identificationof the plants and animals may be offered “for sale” at the workshops.These materials are optional, but many volunteer found them useful.
