Citizen Lake Monitoring Training - Spooner - 03/26/2011

Purpose

Days: Saturday, March 26 OR Saturday, May 14 Time: 10:00 am - Noon Place: Spooner Agricultural Research Center located on Hwy 70 between Spooner and the Freeway The DNR will host two CLMN Refresher Workshops for volunteers on lakes in northwest Wisconsin. The session will review the use of Secchi discs, procedure for collecting and mailing lake water samples for phosphorous and chlorophyll, and the steps for performing dissolved oxygen titration. This is also an opportunity where supplies, acid vials, chemicals, and replacement equipment can be picked up. There will also be a guest speaker to talk on some interesting topic. Distribution sites will be set up where volunteers who can not make the training workshop can pick up their acid and supplies.
