BALSAM LAKE P & R DISTRICT: Long Range Plan Update

Purpose

Balsam Lake P&R District is sponsoring a project to compile lake data collected since 2006, conduct a user survey, develop priorities for habitat and water quality protections, and form an advisory committee to update their Long Range Lake Management Plan. This plan will include specific lake improvement or protection strategies for implementation that will guide the P&R District in future projects. The final deliverables include agendas or attendance lists for planning meetings, and a single lake management plan that includes methodologies, results, and management alternatives discussion with an implementation plan. Interim deliverables include progress reports that include maps, spreadsheets, and other data collected. Specific project tasks include: 1) Compile lake data since 2006; 2) Conduct a sociological/user survey; 3) Develop priorities for habitat & water quality protections; 4) Form an advisory committee for plan development; 5) Update Long Range Lake Management Plan including public participation/meetings. Special Conditions: Draft sociological/user surveys must be reviewed and approved by the Department before being initiated. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Coordinator.
