Half Moon Lake P&R District is sponsoring a project to assess watershed, water quality, shoreline, and aquatic plant conditions; determine nutrient budget, loads, and model lake response; distribute and analyze a sociological survey; inventory exotic species; compile historic fisheries data; coordinate stakeholder participation and planning; develop a lake management plan including aquatic plant recommendations, with public participation/meetings.
Deliverables include meeting agendas and attendance lists; lake management plan including methodologies, results, and management alternatives discussion with implementation plan. Interim deliverables include progress reports with maps, spreadsheets, and data collected.
Project tasks: 1) Water quality monitoring (deep hole); 2) Watershed delineation & modeling; 3) Shoreline assessment; 4) Early season CLP meander survey; 5) Mid summer point-intercept (PI) aquatic plant survey; 6) Sociological survey of riparians; 7) Lake Management plan with aquatic plant recommendations, including public participation/meetings.
