MARGARET LAKE ASSOC: Margaret Lake Stewardship Project, Phase 3

Purpose

Margaret Lake Association is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grants to study Margaret Lake, in Oneida County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Margaret Lake. Phases 1 and 2 were funded in the Feb 2011 grant cycle and Phase 3 was funded in Aug 2011. Phase 3 project activities include: 1) Rare species and water quality assessment; 2) Volunteer frog and toad monitoring and angler\2019s journal program; 3) Water quality and watershed assessment; 4) Develop Aquatic Plant Management (APM) plan and LMP; 5) Educational program \2013 stakeholder survey, meetings, newsletter articles, and press releases. Project deliverables include: 1) Rare species, water quality, watershed, frog and toad, and angler\2019s journal data; 2) APM plan and LMP; 3) Education materials and stakeholder survey. Specific conditions for this project: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey needs to be submitted to Lakes Management Coordinator for review and approval before sending to public; 2) APM plan and LMP need Dept review and approval; WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of APM plan, LMP, reports, stakeholder survey, rare species, water quality, frog and toad, and angler data, all maps from project, and all GIS data.
