The Sevenmile Lake Adaptive Management Plan results from a large-scale project funded by a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Lake Planning Grant. The project was sponsored by the Sevenmile Lake Association (SLA) and coordinated by White Water Associates, Inc., an independent ecological consulting firm and environmental laboratory. Since Sevenmile Lake was a primary subject of this project, the SLA is the recipient of this adaptivemanagement plan.
Grant Awarded
Sevenmile Lake Association is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grants to study Sevenmile Lake, in Oneida County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Sevenmile Lake. Phase 2 will be submitted for funding during the Aug 1, 2012 grant cycle.
Phase 1 project activities include: 1) Gather and assess existing Sevenmile Lake info; 2) Volunteer frog and toad monitoring and angler\2019s journal program; 3) PI aquatic plant survey, community and substrate mapping and analysis; 4) Watershed assessment and water quality sampling; 5) Rare species assessment; 6) Educational program \2013 stakeholder survey, meetings, newsletter articles, and press releases; 7) Watercraft inspections.
Project deliverables include: 1) PI, stakeholder survey, water quality, rare species, frog and toad, angler\2019s journal and watershed data; 2) Aquatic plant community and substrate maps; 3) Entered inspection data into SWIMS; 4) Aquatic plant vouchers; 5) Education materials.
