Spread Eagle Chain of Lakes Association is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grants to study North Lake, in Florence County The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for North Lake. Phase 2 will be submitted for funding during the Aug 1, 2012 grant cycle. Phase 1 project activities include: 1) Gather and assess existing North Lake info; 2) Volunteer frog and toad monitoring and angler\2019s journal program; 3) PI aquatic plant survey, community and substrate mapping and analysis; 4) Watershed assessment and water quality sampling; 5) Rare species assessment; 6) Educational program \2013 stakeholder survey, meetings, newsletter articles, and press releases; 7) Watercraft inspections. Project deliverables include: 1) PI, water quality, rare species, frog and toad, angler's journal and watershed data; 2) Aquatic plant community and substrate maps; 3) Entered inspection data into SWIMS; 4) Aquatic plant vouchers; 5) Education materials.
