BIG BEARSKIN LAKE ASSOCIATION: Bearskin Lake Stewardship Program, Phase 2

Purpose

Big Bearskin Lake Association is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning project to study Bearskin Lake, in Oneida County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Bearskin Lake. Phase 1 was funded during the Aug 1, 2011 grant cycle and Phase 2 was funding during the Aug 1, 2012 grant cycle. Phase 2 project activities include: 1) Watershed modeling and water quality sampling; 2) Rusty Crayfish assessment and removal; 3) Rare species assessment and shoreline assessment; 4) Educational program \2013 watercraft inspections, lake ecology workshop, meetings, newsletter articles, and press releases; 5) Develop LMP. Project deliverables include: 1) Watershed, water quality, rusty crayfish, and shoreland data; 2) Watershed and shoreland maps; 3) Education materials; 4) LMP. Specific conditions for this project: project summaries and reports need Dept review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of reports, water quality, watershed, shoreland, and rusty crayfish data, all maps from project, and all GIS data.
