LEGEND LAKE P & R DISTRICT: Sapokesick & Pywaosit EWM Control

Purpose

Legend Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District proposes to control Eurasian Watermilfoil in Sapokesick & Pywaosit lakes by implementing control measures during the period 2013. The project elements and deliverables are specified in the TPPRD\2019s Aquatic Invasive Species Control Grant application, dated February 1, 2013. The project includes conducting one Point Intercept Survey (post-treatment) in 2013 using the DNR Aquatic Plant Treatment Evaluation Protocol http://www4.uwsp.edu/cnr/uwexlakes/ecology/APM/Appendix-D.pdf ; controlling Eurasian Watermilfoil with aquatic herbicide treatments; continue to work with The Menominee County Sherriff\2019s Department to conduct augmented AIS enforcement and also assist with the already existing Clean Boats, Clean Waters program; train volunteers with current Citizen lake Monitoring AIS protocol; continue with hand-pulling efforts. A final report summarizing the one-year project will be provided to DNR. The report format for the plant data will use the spread sheet developed by the Department, including all the raw data. All CLMN data will be entered into the state website. Any publications produced as part of the project will incorporate the \201CStop Aquatic Hitchhikers!\201D\2122 brand (partnership details can be found at: http://www.protectyourwaters.org). If consultant is to provide the final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR will be provided both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to, submission of grantee\2019s final payment request. All information associated with this project is subject to public record.
