CRESCENT LAKE ASSOCIATION: Crescent Lake 2014 Education, Prevention & Planning

Purpose

Crescent Lake Association is sponsoring an AIS project on Crescent Lake, in Oneida County. The project will focus on AIS education, prevention and monitoring. Project activities include: 1) Hire an AIS coordinator; 2) Recruit volunteers and implement a CB/CW program; 3) Conduct AIS citizen lake monitoring following Dept/UW Ext guidelines; 4) Entry of inspection and monitoring forms into SWIMS; 5) AIS education- disperse information in local community, share results of project in newsletter and local media, and host a volunteer recognition dinner; 6) Purple loosestrife and yellow iris hand removal; 7) Develop final report. Project deliverables include: 1) Entered inspection and monitoring data into SWIMS; 2) AIS coordinator; 3) AIS educational and outreach activities; 4) Controlled purple loosestrife and yellow iris; 5) Final report summarizing CB/CW activities, AIS monitoring, AIS educational activities and AIS hand removal efforts. Specific Conditions for this project: Final report needs Dept review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of final report and samples of educational and outreach products.
