DRUID LAKE INLAND P & R DISTRICT: Druid Lake - Curly-Leaf Project

Purpose

The Druid Lake Inland Protection and Rehabilitation District will continue their project to attempt the eradication of curly leaf pondweed in Druid Lake. The pioneering population, discovered in 2011, was hand pulled for two years. A chemical treatment was performed in 2013. This grant project will continue the efforts to eradicate curly leaf pondweed in 2014 and 2015 by utilizing both chemical treatment and hand pulling. Pre and post treatment plant surveys will be conducted in the areas to be treated. The project deliverable will be a report that contains the following elements: 1) Pre and post survey P/I data in the treatment areas for both 2014 and 2015; 2) maps of treated areas in 2014 and 2015; 3) a description of hand pulling efforts in 2014 and 2015 and 4) a evaluation of the successes and/or failures of the project.
