LITTLE BEARSKIN LAKE ASSOCIATION: Lt. Bearskin Lk. Hybrid Water Milfoil Monitoring & Control Strategy Development 2014-2015

Purpose

Little Bearskin Lake Association is sponsoring an AEPP project which will focus on surveying, monitoring and mapping the EWM in Little Bearskin Lake, Oneida County. Project activities include: 1) Conduct EWM peak-biomass surveys; 2) Conduct volunteer AIS monitoring; 3) Conduct watercraft inspections; 4) Enter watercraft inspection data into SWIMS; 5) Purchase GPS; 6) SePro EWM challenge testing; 7) Develop annual maps and report. Project deliverables include: 1) EWM survey data and maps; 2) Entered inspection data; 3) GPS; 4) Annual and final report describing the findings of the EWM surveys, EWM challenge testing, watercraft inspections, volunteer monitoring, and guidance for potential EWM control actions. Specific conditions for this project: Reports need DNR review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of reports, all maps, and all aquatic plant and GIS data.

This report summarizes control strategies implemented on Little Bearskin Lake related to the UW-Extension study on control of EWM/HWM using biological methods, and the results of these control studies between 2013 and 2015.
