Description of Incident/General Comments |
1-15-19 RSC JS: SAGER SPOKE TO MATT TURNER, SUPERIOR REFINING CO, AT APPROXIMATELY 1140HRS ON 1-15-19. 20 GALLONS LIGHT CYCLE OIL RELEASED FROM A PIPE THAT WAS BEING REMOVED AS PART OF THE THE 4-26-18 SPILL CLEANUP. THE PIPE IS LOCATED IN THE AREA OF THE 4-26-18 ASPHALT RELEASE. THE RELEASE WAS ONTO ICE AND SOIL WITHIN SECONDARY CONFINEMENT. SUPRERIOR REFINING CO HAD A VAC TRUCK PRESENT AT THE TIME AND RECOVERED THE SPILLED OIL. SUPERIOR REFINNINEG CO IS MELTING THE ICE BELOW THE SPILL AND RECOVERING THE RESULTING CONTAMINATED WATER. SUPERIOR REFINING CO WILL SUBMIT A RESPONSE REPORT.
SAGER RECEIVED A RESPONSE REPORT FROM SUPERIOR REFINING COMPANY ON 3-22-19.

SUPERIOR REFINING COMPANY IS RECOVERING MATERIAL WITH A VACUUM TRUCK. WILL REMOVE AFFECTED ICE, SNOW AND SOIL WITH EXCAVATION. ALL 20 GAL WILL BE RECOVERED.
