Description of Incident/General Comments |
SAGER SPOKE WITH KRIS BENZON AT APPROXIMATELY 0820 HRS ON 05/22/09. BENSON STATES THAT OIL FLOWED FROM THE SUMP AREA THROUGH A CULVERT AND WITH PREFERENTIAL FLOW TO A RETENTION POND. THE OUTLET OF THE POND HAS A FLUME THAT WAS IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF. NO OIL MIGRATED OUT OF THE RETENTION POND. EXCAVATION OF CONTAMIANTED SOIL BEGAN IMMEDIATELY AS WELL AS SKIMMING OIL FROM POND SURFACE. ENBRIDGE IS POWER WASHING THE BANK OF THE POND. BENSON ESTIMATES RECOVERY OF FREE OIL WILL BE COMPLETED BY THIS AFTERNOON. ENBRIDGE WILL SAMPLE THE POND WATER FOLLOWING PRODUCT COLLECTION. SAGER RECEIVED RESPONSE REPORT FROM KRIS BENSON ON AUGUST 14, 2009. |
