Description of Incident/General Comments |
TALKED TO PETER FEDMAN AT APPROXIMATELY 1439HRS ON 10/24/12. THE SPILL WAS CAUSED BY A LEAKING SEAL IN A #6 FUEL OIL PUMP NEAR THE NUMBER 2 COOLING TOWER AND FORMER TANKS 1 AND 2. FREDMAN REPORTED THE OIL SPRAYED AND LEFT A FINE COATING OF OIL ON PLANT EQUIPMENT AND SOIL. CALUMET PERSONNEL ARE WIPING PIPING AND EQUIPMENT. CONTAMINATED SOIL WILL BE EXCAVATED FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT CLEANING.
SAGER RECEIVED A TELEPHONE CALL FROM PETER FREDMAN AT APPROXIMATELY 1115 HRS ON 10/30/12. FREDMAN TOLD SAGER THE SPILLED OIL HAS BEEN CLEANED OFF OF OILED PLANT EQUIPMENT AND CONTAMINATED SOIL HAS BEEN SCRAPED FROM THE AREA OF THE SPILL. CONTAMINATED SOIL HAS BEEN CLEANED UP VISUALLY.
