Description of Incident/General Comments |
10/25/12 2:16PM, STOLTZ SPOKE WITH JACKIE POWELL (ENVIRONMENTAL MGR). POWELL STATED THE SPILL OCCURRED IN THE BACKYARD AREA BEHIND THE MAIN MANUF. PLANT NEXT TO SOME COAL PILES. A CONTRACTOR WAS DELIVERING A LOAD OF COAL WHEN THE TRUCKS HYDRAULIC LINE RUPTURED. OIL DRY WAS ADDED, A PAN WAS PLACED UNDER THE TRUCK TO COLLECT ANY ADDL FLUID. TRUCK WILL BE REPAIRED ONSITE. MILL MAINTENANCE STAFF USED A BOBCAT TO EXCAVATE CONTAMINATED SOIL. HAVE AN ABSORPBANT RECYCLER-JACKIE WILL SEND THAT INFO + A SUMMARY LETTER TO STOLTZ. THERE ARE NO STORM SEWERS, NO WATER ACCESS, SITE IS BERMED. SITE HAS OWN STORM WATER POND. 11/1/12: STOLTZ RECIEVED LETTER FROM POWELL.TRUCK WITH RUPTURED HYDRUALIC LINE IS OWNED BY CHARLES POCH ID#LC46112. NO EXISITNG OR POTENTIAL HAZARDS. SPOILS FROM CLEANUP PLACED IN 2-55 GALLON DRUMS AND SENT TO HALRON OIL-GREEN BAY, FOR DISPOSAL.

TRUCK DRIVER FROM CHARLES POCH TRUCKING WAS INSTRUCTED TO REMIANED ON SITE UNTIL REPAIRS TO HYDRAULIC LINE COMPLETED. CONTAINED SPILL AND APPLIED OIL-DRI, CLEAN UP AREA WITH BOB CAT AND CONTAINERIZED 2-55 GALLON DRUMS OF MATERIAL WHICH WAS SENT FOR DISPOSAL AT HALRON OIL-GREEN BAY.
