03-15-2020 TB: PHONE CALL WITH RP CONTACT WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE SPILL HAD BEEN STOPPED, ABSORBENT BOOMS AND PADS HAD BEEN DEPLOYED, AN OSRO RESPONSE COMPANY (OSI) HAD BEEN CONTACTED AND WAS RESPONDING, AND THAT DNR ASSISTANCE WAS NOT REQUESTED. CONTACT INFORMATION FOR OCSC WAS ALSO PROVIDED.
03-16-2020 MR: PHONE CALL WITH RP CONTACT PAUL CHRISTENSEN. ACTUAL AMOUNT RELEASED CLOSER TO 400 GALLONS. USCG WAS ON SCENE YESTERDAY TO OVERSEE CLEAN UP OPERATIONS. OSRO APPLIED ABSORBENTS AND BOOM TO AFFECTED AREA OF HARBOR. 4400 GALLONS OF OILY WATER WERE PUMPED FROM THE LAKE AND TRANSPORTED TO DISPOSAL FACILITY. RP WILL PROVIDE PHOTOS AND CONTRACTOR LOG OF MATERIALS USED AND VOLUMES RECOVERED.

CALLER REPORTED AN UNKNOWN AMOUNT OF MARINE DIESEL OIL WAS RELEASED
FROM A VESSEL INTO THE SUPERIOR HARBOR DUE TO UNKNOWN CAUSES.
LATER DETERMINED TO BE MISALIGNED VALVE CAUSED AN OVERFILL OF THE TANK.
