TOWN OF HAZELHURST: Upper Kaubashine AIS Early Detection & Response, Phase 2
The Town of Hazelhurst is sponsoring an AIRR grant which will help fund a project which will focus on surveying, monitoring, mapping, and hand-pulling EWM in Upper Kaubashine Lake, Oneida County and start the development of a Lake Management Plan (LMP).
Project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 stakeholder survey, planning meetings (up to 2), kick-off meeting, wrap-up meeting, news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) Aquatic plant surveys (PI survey, acoustic survey, early-season AIS survey, EWM peak-biomass, community mapping, and substrate mapping); 3) Professional Dreissana monitoring; 4) Start development of LMP.
Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey, news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) PI data; 3) Aquatic plant community and substrate maps; 4) Aquatic plant vouchers; 5) LMP;
Specific conditions for this project: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey needs Dept review and approval; 2) Draft of LMP needs Dept review and approval.
WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of LMP, news release(s), newsletter article, stakeholder survey, data from PI survey, acoustic survey, all maps from project, all GIS data, and aquatic plant vouchers.
